On-Line Editing
  The most unique ViewIt feature is its support for editing the content of windows "on-line" (i.e., while a program is running).  On-line editing can be used from within any programming environment with any type of ViewIt window (modal or modeless).
  For example, to put this window into editing mode, press Option-‚åò-Shift (Enter exits edit mode). A bar will appear at the bottom and right sides of the window to support editing.*  Press the leftmost icon (a File icon) in the bar at the bottom of the window to pop up the File menu.  The "ViewIt Help" item at the top of this menu opens the main help window for the ViewIt, FaceIt, and UtilIt modules.
  If you would like to learn more about the technical details of using ViewIt, explore the topics presented in the ViewIt Help window.  The "Editing" topic under the "ViewIt" menu, for example, describes details of on-line editing.  Also note that the code resources and help text used to support on-line editing are not needed in finished programs, so there is no penalty for ViewIt's support of this feature.

* NOTE:  If a color or style change does not have the desired effect it may be due to a limitation of one of Apple's own standard CDEF controls.  When resetting the color of a standard button, for example, the first color selected will color the entire control until another color is selected for another control part.  Such "display bugs" do not occur with ViewIt's own controls.
